Created and curated largely by Guro Dan Inosanto, top student of Bruce Lee and one of the most celebrated martial artists of our era, Panantukan includes elements such as:
Striking with nearly every part of the body, with a heavy focus on natural tools thrown from creative angles
Limb destructions and devastating, non-traditional body targets
Sweeping, off-balancing techniques meant to disrupt an opponent’s ability to attack effectively

TRAPPING ARTS
Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, Panantukan, Silat
“Trapping” is a term that describes the concept of pinning, pulling, or degrading the limbs of an opponent in order to:
Create space for striking
Use the opponent’s energy against them
Limit the opponent’s offense/defense
Make the opponent “fight your fight”
Trapping is exciting, effective, and fascinating. The arts the most commonly use this tactic include Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do fighting method, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Indonesian Silat, and Filipino Panantukan/Suntukan. At MKG Detroit, we train all of these methods in isolation, and in an intuitive blend.
