Muay Thai, known also as Thai Boxing or “The Art of 8 Limbs,” is the national sport of Thailand. It is a truly comprehensive Kickboxing method that utilizes kicks, punches, knees, elbows, and clinch. All over the world, Muay Thai fighters (or “Nak Muay”) are known as “Kings of the Ring.”
Our program, Origin Muay Thai, has been specifically developed with beginners in mind. Though Origin has a competition team, our focus is on helping everyday people access and excel in the empowering and exciting sport and martial art of Muay Thai.

Perfect for beginners, and designed for all experience levels who understand that old boxing adage: “Fundamentals Win Fights!”
Sparring & Clinch
Do We Spar and Clinch?
After every hour-long weeknight Muay Thai session, Origin Muay Thai offers upwards of 30 minutes of additional, optional training in Len Chern style sparring and Muay Thai Clinch Fighting. With the exception of our competitors and high-level practitioners, Sparring and Clinch are never required.
Len Chern is a traditional sparring method from Thailand that focuses on technical prowess, creative offense, superior timing, and the love of training, rather than on hard impact or victory. This is our preferred style. Origin Muay Thai’s sparring philosophy revolves around the Thai expression “Sabai-Sabai,” meaning generally to relax, don’t stress, and go with the flow.”
Clinch Fighting is a core aspect of Muay Thai. Fighters engage in a kind of standing grappling the includes controlling the opponent’s limbs, head, or body, and initiating strikes with major tools like knees, elbows, and sweeps. Clinch is exciting and very practical for sport and self defense.
